PARTICIPATE
Interested in Participating in Psychology Research?
Below is a list of ongoing research projects in which we are looking for interested parents and children to participate. If you are interested in enrolling in one of our studies, please follow the project's instructions to sign up.
The purpose of this research is to see how parents and guardians of 6 to 11-year-olds discuss economic achievement and inequality with their children. We hope this project helps developmental psychologists understand how parents approach these topics. You will be asked to:
Take a survey online
Answer questions about yourself (e.g., age, gender) and about your child and any other primary caregivers
Answer questions about your view of the economic state of the United States, whether and why you might discuss inequality with your children, and how you may respond when your children observe inequalities like economic differences
CHILD FOLLOW UP STUDY
This follow-up study is for children of parents who have already completed the Socialization of Economic Inequalities survey.
This research project will help us to…
Understand when children begin to notice economic differences
Understand how they think about the inequalities they observe
By asking children about these topics, we will gain valuable information about how children think about, discuss, and perceive social inequalities.
If you elect to have your child participate, they will be asked to...
Complete a 20-minute Zoom interview with a trained research assistant.
Answer some questions about economic inequalities and their knowledge of different economic statuses.
More information and an opportunity to enroll in this study are at the end of the parent survey!
